  1. Maryland C2 Columbia center director create problem to families

    Hello,
    ‘My name is Meng Li, I’m Forrest Lin’s mom who purchased 100 hours back in 2018. Everything went well until recently the previous director Janice left. I called last Thursday asking about the remaining hours under my son’s account, I was told by one employee that she would get back to me later in the day, which never did. Then I called again on Monday asking the same question, John who worked on the front desk told me that he would get back to me later. I called later in the day, he apologized saying he would definitely get back to me which never happened again. I called again on the following day and he again apologized saying he is new and didn’t know how to find it and he will have the director call me. Few minutes later I received a text message saying “Forrest has utilized 52 hours “. Then I still didn’t know exactly how many hours were remaining on my son’s account. I then texted and called so many times no one answered at all.

    I work full time with a very busy schedule. We paid $6000 for tutoring, not for anxiety. Please help me understand what’s the problem for a parent knowing the remaining hours of her son’s account? It used to be a phone call in the past. I was calling the headquarters in Georgia this afternoon but didn’t get through. I’ll appreciate it if you can step in on this situation and tell me how to deal with it.

    I couldn’t sleep at all last night. I’m asking to set up an appointment with district director Ms. Kim and one more staff from headquarters. We purchased these hours and have the right to know our account information (like checking bank account remaining) so that we can use them accordingly. But still after 4 calls and yesterday asking in person at the center, this director still refused to tell me by saying a front desk person will tell me once she comes back from vacation next week. This creates stress, anxiety and tension for my family to my well-being. She’s clearly not solving the problem but created more. Now she’s using her power to make the session scheduling difficult (we made one with the front staff together at the center, she canceled it 2 hours later saying it doesn’t work.) however, she was the one who initially suggested the Saturday schedule and told me it’s done…)

    I sent 4 or 5 emails to the district director Ms. Kim and C2 headquarters yesterday and pray the emails will get answered today. Education center is a place where families get help and also a business to meet customers’ needs. But clearly not with this current center director.

    Ms. Kim’s email was given by the front desk staff member John who said he shared my feeling that he didn’t understand why the center made it so difficult for families. He said unfortunately he has to go by the director because he is hired by the center, he only started one week ago.

    We had only asked two things- the remaining hours and stopping being unprofessional to create difficulties, anxiety and stress on session scheduling.

    She is very difficult to talk to, we’re asking your attendance if possible to work out a solution.

    I would appreciate it if anyone would reply to me and help me before I fill a u.s consumer protection complaint later.

    Again, your help and consideration are greatly appreciated. Looking forward to talking to someone soon.

    Police involved and suggested us to reaching out to the headquarters to have someone step in solve the problem. wE’RE desperate because our son is senior and we paid in$11k in totaol to this location, now Esther stops scheduling us.
